You want to have your cell phone near…so what do you
do with it? Do you stick it in your bra or your pants pocket? Seems easy
enough, you can feel it vibrate even in areas like a theater where you can’t
have the ringer on - you won’t miss any calls. Or will you? It’s just possible
that you’ll miss a lot of calls in your non-existent future or while going
through chemo.I don’t mean to sound melodramatic – well actually that’s not
true – I do want to get your
attention.
Someone wise once said that there is no cure for
stupidity, but ignorance can be cured with knowledge. I sure hope that
this is the case. Did you know that a company is even manufacturing cell-phone
bra holsters! That’s a bad idea taken up a notch.
It’s too late for a number of young women who have
had mastectomies at a young age – even though there was no prior family history
or risk factors. This video http://www.ktvu.com/videos/news/special-report-keeping-cell-phone-in-bra-may-lead/vhPF8/
reveals that Tiffany France, 21, was diagnosed with tumors exactly where her
phone was carried for ten years. Donna James, 39, had an unusual distribution
of tumors exactly matching where she kept her phone for over ten years. Both
women had mastectomies.
Breast surgeon, Lisa Bailey, says cell phone related cancer may be common
but that doctors rarely think to ask about cell phone usage, so no correlations
are being made in most cases. Men, you’re not off the hook either. We know where you put your phone. Your pocket is just as bad. Do you really want that phone next to your sperm producing parts? Probably not after you read this. You put it in your shirt pocket?….hmmm…did you know men can get breast cancer?
Doctors fear there may be a whole cluster of breast
cancers showing up in another 5 to 10 years. Remember when tobacco and asbestos
were considered safe…but then 10-20-30 years down the road the truth came out.
I’m pretty sure you don’t want to be one of the cases that helps prove there’s
a problem.
Don’t take a chance – don’t keep your phone on your
body – not in your bra, or your pocket. Keep the phone as far away from your
body as possible.
Okay, so I get it, you need your phone nearby. What can you do?Read theseTips for Using Your Cell Phone Safely
